Carpenter - Heavy Civil with AIS Infrastructure

About The Position

The Carpenter is responsible for executing various carpentry tasks to support the successful completion of heavy civil construction projects. This position requires a high level of proficiency in carpentry techniques and practices, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and project specifications. Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, metal, and other materials. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to determine dimensions and materials . Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials as needed for each project. Set up and install forms, trim , molding, hardware, especially ladders and handrails. Form and pour concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, thrust blocks, and manhole inverts. Perform rough and finish carpentry work. Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless integration of carpentry work. Maintain tools and equipment in proper condition and ensure they are used safely. Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in carpentry techniques, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and joining materials.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and construction plans accurately.
  • Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools relevant to carpentry work.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure precise and accurate workmanship.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
  • Metal fabrication experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools for project documentation and communication.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges during carpentry work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with other construction professionals.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
  • Physical requirements include lifting heavy materials, operating tools, and standing for extended periods.
  • Mental demands include the ability to understand and interpret complex construction plans and execute carpentry tasks accurately.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, adapting to changing environments as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program in carpentry is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in carpentry within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to carpentry work.
  • Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Metal fabrication experience.
  • Welding experience is a plus .
