About The Position

As a Caregiver at REM West Virginia, you will engage in rewarding work helping individuals grow, learn, and live well. This role involves developing meaningful relationships with the people you serve and being empowered by leaders to make appropriate decisions for participants. You will take initiative to help participants integrate into the community and enjoy their favorite activities. A key part of the role is supporting participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, dental hygiene, exercise, and nutrition. You will provide care for individuals with diverse needs, including those with autism and similar conditions. Assisted living responsibilities include helping with personal hygiene and offering support to individuals who may experience behavioral challenges and other complex needs. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to cook
  • Ability to clean
  • Ability to assist with personal care, such as eating, dressing, bathing and toileting
  • Ability to stay calm and problem solve in stressful situations

  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance in some positions

  • Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination
