Caregiver / Personal Attendant / Direct Support Professional (DSP)
About The Position
Thrive Support Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Caregiver / Personal Attendant to provide compassionate care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. This rewarding role involves empowerment through helping with daily tasks and fostering independence. Thrive Support Services was founded in 2007 with the goal of helping adults with developmental disabilities Thrive in their own homes and chosen communities. The organization believes that every individual, regardless of disability, has the right to live in the place of their choosing and with the people they want by their side. They serve clients throughout the Alameda and Contra Costa County Areas and aim to make a difference in peoples' lives every day.
Requirements
- At least one (1) year experience working as a caregiver or in-home aide, preferably with adults with developmental disabilities
- High level of accountability and dependability
- Ability to provide hands-on care and support including bathing, dressing, changing depends, assist with medication, etc
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid California Driver License
- Access to reliable vehicle
- Ability to pass DOJ fingerprinting/criminal background check
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to obtain TB test result
- Valid auto insurance with $100,000-$300,000 bodily injury liability insurance
Responsibilities
- Support developmentally disabled clients with daily living activities such as dressing, grooming, meal planning and preparation, medication administration and community outing
- Perform light housekeeping
