About The Position

Our Hospice Support Specialists provide end of life care at the Hospice Home of Johnson County, also known as The Bird House. The Bird House is a community based nonprofit dedicated to providing compassionate, dignified end of life care by focusing on the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of our guests and their loves ones in a peaceful, homelike environment.

Requirements

Work day shifts
Previous caregiver experience required; end of life care experience preferred.
Experience working independently
Must be able to work every other weekend
Must be able to pass multiple background checks
Able to work 12 hour shifts

Responsibilities

Provide companionship, personal cares(bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting), medication management, meal preparation, housekeeping/laundry assistance, positioning, transferring, and feeding as appropriate.
Assist with care at the time of dying and death.
Complete medication management course or equivalent.
Work with volunteers
Participate in orientation and continuing education for the staff.
Work with a team of dedicated professionals to provide the best care possible to our guests.
Maintain confidentiality on all guests.
