About The Position

The Office of Career Services is looking for a work-study student employee to help provide administrative support to the team. We help students, alumni, and others from resumes to interviews, or some guidance on what to pursue after graduation.

Requirements

  • None required. Training will be offered.
  • Ability to pay attention to accuracy even with many work interruptions.
  • Ability to be a self-starter who is detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, while complying with FERPA regulations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with a diverse group of students and guests.
  • Ability to maintain a neat & professional appearance and office atmosphere.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, standard correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Pleasant and clearly understandable phone voice.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written/oral instructions.
  • Customer service abilities.
  • The ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and changing priorities.
  • Strong dependability - reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 software including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive.
  • Ability to complete physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Computer entries.
  • Answering the phones and taking messages as needed.
  • Assist with filing and keeping the office organized.
  • Assist with creating a creative marketing campaign design.
  • Interact with students on the phone, in person, and through email.
  • Represent Career Services as campus events such as Orientation, Welcome Stations and employer relations.
  • Assist with organization and preparation of events such as Career Fairs, On Campus Recruiting, Job Placement, and others.
  • Set up the welcome/registration table, help with sign-in and greeting students and visitors at various events.
  • Assist with the promotion of various events by answering any questions via email, over the phone and in person.
