About The Position

Responsible for the development, coordination, scheduling, planning, implementation, and assessment of career focused programs and events for students and alumni. Responsible for assisting with the coordination of presentations, panels, or other academic or alumni event collaborations with a career focus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience planning, scheduling, implementing, and assessing programs and events.
  • Experience, knowledge, comfort, and seamless utilization of Microsoft Office applications and virtual platforms.
  • Effective presentation skills, strong written, verbal, and team communication skills with internal and external groups and individuals.
  • Must possess creativity, flexibility, reliability, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to working with a diverse student population.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education, working with all students and graduates, ideally with at least one year in a career/counseling center.
  • Skilled in event planning, marketing, and operation.
  • Experience with Handshake system.
  • Experience with and/or certification in career inventories and guidance tools (i.e. MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, ONet online, etc.)
  • Understanding of NACE career readiness competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate university recruitment efforts to promote department services, attract prospective students, and build a bridge between students, alumni, and employers.
  • Develop recruiting efforts of current and prospective students for career readiness and experiential learning programs including but not limited to internship and cooperative education.
  • Plan and facilitate annual career fairs, expos, networking events, and other employer recruitment activities.
  • Strategically identify and foster relationships with local, state, and regional employers for recruitment of students and alumni for experiential learning and career opportunities.
  • Plan and promote and coordination opportunities for off-campus engagement in career focused activities and events with community partners.
  • Advise employers on marketing strategies to enhance employment postings in Handshake and to expand campus recruitment efforts.
  • Provide and present career readiness activities and programs for students and alumni and attend open houses and orientation programs as needed.
  • Utilize Handshake system to curate matches between students, alumni, and employment opportunities.
  • Pull reports and record program and participation data as requested.
  • Regularly communicate with the Coordinator - Career Readiness Engagement and Director of Career Readiness about weekly, monthly, and annual workshops and events
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Career Readiness.
