Job Description Summary: In this role, the Material Handler performs shop order-picking away activities associates with an assigned area of the warehouse. Utilizes the ERP system (BPCS/LX) to perform inventory transactions and inquiries, including the use of mobile bar code devices Optimizes storage locations based on part velocity and volume policies Acts as back-up for multiple areas when required Operates mobile equipment, such as forklifts, man-lifts, pallet jacks, to move material Assures that material counts are accurately reflected in the system and material is stored according to defined policies and procedures Operates material handling equipment (forklift, order pickers, pallet jacks) Able to identify part types and methods of storage associated with assigned area Performs put-away and picking functions utilizing BPCS bar code devices Maintains accurate stock counts, locations and product IDs in assigned areas Rearrange material as directed for optimization Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required Follows all safety rules and practices May be involved in safety committees or initiatives Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum six months’ forklift operating experience
  • Minimum six months’ experience working in team environment
  • Minimum six months’ data entry experience
  • Experience in warehousing activities requiring high level of precision and productivity

Responsibilities
