About The Position

The Career Jam Concert Audio Crew supports the audio strategy, setup, and execution of the audio production for the Career Jam Concert. This role works closely with the Senior Audio Creative Producer to ensure all audio aspects of the concert run smoothly and at the technical level expected for this production. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about audio engineering, well versed in instrument technology and organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

• Experience in studio and/or live sound engineering.
• Operational knowledge of Protools and several types of audio peripherals.
• Understanding of basic concert, live event, or stage production workflows.
• Ability to track details, follow detailed instructions, and support logistics.
• Clear, professional communication with production staff, faculty, and students.
• Ability to prioritize tasks during technical troubleshooting and manage multiple responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Drum tuning, shell types, heads, microphone techniques, etc.
• Knowledge of Guitar pedals and signal flow, alternate tunings and best tuning practices.
• Knowledge of MIDI controllers, sample libraries and redundant DAW-based setups.
• Basic knowledge of Ableton Live and Dante a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support load-in and load-out of instruments, sound gear, and other production equipment.
• Communicate promptly and professionally with performers and staff.
• Assist with rehearsal (pre-concert) and concert setup and breakdown including setting up instrument stations, placing and wiring microphones and DIs, distribute RF wireless packs, etc.
• Work in coordination with stage managers, lead audio crew members, and students to ensure all technical and logistical needs are timely met.
• Maintain a safe and orderly stage and backstage environment.
