Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment. Chrysalis SECTOR Program Overview: Led by LA County’s Justice, Cares, and Opportunities Department, the Skills and Experiences for the Careers of Tomorrow (SECTOR) program is aimed at (1) reducing unemployment and increasing earnings; (2) reducing recidivism; and (3) improving behavioral health and well-being by preparing and matching people with justice involvement to jobs in high-growth industries. The program seeks to serve individuals who have encountered the criminal or juvenile justice system and have a history of mild to moderate mental health and/or substance use disorders. Chrysalis will work closely with training partners to skill up clients, in high growth sectors such as social assistance, healthcare, government, hospitality, information technology (IT), etc.; while also providing critical support through employment coaching to support clients in getting ready for, finding and keeping a job. This is a grant funded program with multiple funding streams. Job Summary: The Career Coach (CC) is a role that will play an integral part in client success and building partner relationships. The CC will be responsible for providing vocational training and case management services with the goal of identifying individuals ready and willing to work in middle skills jobs and ensuring they have the training and skills needed to secure and retain employment in high growth, high wage sectors. The successful candidate will have the ability to use independent judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and a willingness to incorporate into their work emerging industry best practices and techniques.
