If so, this may be the opportunity for you! CareerCenter Consultants help job seekers and employers/businesses connect and succeed. You will guide individuals in career, education, and training decisions, connect them with programs and services, and provide business outreach to support Maine employers. A key part of this role involves assisting workers affected by business downsizing or closure, including leading information sessions, workshops, and large group presentations. State-wide travel is required and reimbursed at the current approved state mileage rate.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to layoffs and business closures by contacting employers, collecting information, and providing layoff or layoff-aversion services.
  • Deliver presentations to individuals and groups, including audiences of up to several hundred dislocated workers.
  • Interview and assess customers to guide career, education, and training decisions.
  • Determine eligibility and refer customers to programs, services, and employment opportunities.
  • Facilitate employment and training-related workshops.
  • Provide business services and workforce support to Maine employers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community and program partners.
