About The Position

The Career Advisor is responsible for delivering comprehensive case management and career services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). This role supports individuals, including dislocated workers, in overcoming employment barriers, building career pathways, and securing sustainable employment through structured guidance and individualized service plans.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a customer-focused environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and good driving record required
  • Ability to travel between multiple service locations as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Business, Public Administration, or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
  • Experience in workforce development, case management, or human services strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of WIOA programs, regulations, and workforce trends preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct eligibility determinations in accordance with federal, state, and local WIOA guidelines
  • Provide individualized career services, including assessments, career counseling, and employment planning
  • Develop and manage Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) aligned with participant goals
  • Maintain consistent case management, including regular follow-up and detailed documentation
  • Support job search efforts, including resume development, interview preparation, and job placement
  • Coordinate supportive services such as transportation assistance and training resources
  • Facilitate referrals to training providers, community organizations, and partner agencies
  • Track and report participant outcomes, including employment placement, credential attainment, and skill gains
  • Ensure accurate, timely data entry within case management systems such as SCWOS
  • Maintain full compliance with WIOA regulations and documentation standards
  • Build relationships with local employers to align participant skills with workforce demand
  • Participate in outreach and recruitment efforts to engage eligible participants
  • Collaborate with internal teams and workforce partners to deliver integrated services
