The Career Advisor / Coach manages a caseload of participants, providing work readiness counseling and mentoring. This role involves assessing participant competencies, work history, education, skills, and barriers to employment. The advisor conducts ongoing individual meetings focused on job search, job retention, and job readiness, and develops individualized employment plans for both short- and long-term goals. Key responsibilities include maintaining information on local resources and employers, tracking participant accountability, attendance, and employment retention, and notifying government agencies when a participant's work hours are reduced or lost. The advisor also maintains periodic contact to assess job retention and advancement issues, provides training and employment advancement information, monitors participant progress toward self-sufficiency, and ensures accurate electronic and paper case files. The position focuses on case management to promote self-sufficiency and facilitates access to education, training, and employment services.
