About The Position

We’re seeking a Care Team Supervisor to join our dynamic team at AscellaHealth, where your leadership will directly contribute to improving health outcomes for patients with complex, chronic conditions and rare diseases. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team of Care Coordinators (Pharmacy Technicians) who support patients with specialty pharmaceutical needs, while driving operational excellence. The goal for this role is to ensure seamless day-to-day team operations, develop talent, and maintain exceptional service for our patients and clients. This is a hybrid role based at our headquarters in Berwyn, PA that requires in-office work three (3) days per week after successful completion of training. The position will focus on Team Development & Leadership, Operational Excellence, and Client Partnership. Requirements

  • Medical terminology knowledge required
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team in a patient services or specialty pharmacy environment
  • Knowledge of claim appeals and reimbursement procedures
  • Familiarity with CMS 1500s, provider numbers, CPT, HCPC, ICD, NCPDP, and NDC codes
  • Experience reviewing KPIs and operational reports to evaluate and drive team performance
  • Knowledge of medical/pharmacy insurance benefit language (EOBs, deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, out-of-pocket)
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production models, and coordination of people and resources
  • Knowledge of business principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including assessing customers’ needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet team and organizational goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold team members accountable
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with limited supervision
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy, patient services, pharmacy operations, or payer reimbursement.
  • Direct personnel management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the Care Coordinator team, providing ongoing support direction, and feedback.
  • Serve as a liaison and day-to-day contact with assigned clients in partnership with the Care Director.
  • Jointly develop and maintain team operations, processes, and procedures with the Care Director.
  • Monitor team performance against KPIs; review daily reports and reimbursement procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Identify individual strengths and areas for growth; develop and implement targeted action plans.
  • Prepare work schedules, assign duties, and manage team resources effectively.
  • Review payer, operations, and activity reports to measure performance against goals.
