The Care Partner is a support care provider who functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The primary focus is to promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the healthcare team to provide excellence in patient experience and assist with daily living activities and comfort measures. The Care Partner assists with safe, age appropriate and culturally aware care by performing basic patient care functions such as ADL's, ambulation, and vital signs. Approved advanced technical training skills like phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and discontinuing Foley catheters may be required, and additional advanced skills may fluctuate based on unit needs. Clerical functions including data retrieval, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/patient medications are also required. The role demands working in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, effective communication with the Registered Nurse and ancillary team, performing under stressful conditions with a compassionate, respectful, and service mindset, and taking direction from various care providers. Organization and excellent communication skills are essential.
