At Wellstar, the mission is to enhance the health and well-being of every person served. The Care Partner is a support care provider who functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The primary focus of this role is to promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, healthcare team, and other healthcare providers to deliver excellent patient care. This includes assisting with daily living activities and comfort measures, as well as performing basic patient care functions such as ADL's, ambulation, and vital signs. The role may also require approved advanced technical training skills like phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and discontinuing Foley catheters, depending on unit needs. Clerical functions such as data retrieval, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/patient medications are also required. The Care Partner must be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment, requiring multi-tasking, effective communication, and the ability to take direction from various care providers, all while maintaining a compassionate, respectful, and service-oriented mindset.
