About The Position

The Care Ministry Lead helps cultivate a culture of care at Hill City Church—marked by prayer, presence, and biblical truth—by equipping leaders and volunteers to care for people well. This role provides team development and care oversight, ensuring people are connected to meaningful, timely, and appropriate care—without centralizing care in one person.

Requirements

2–4+ years of experience in care ministry, counseling, social work, or a similar field
Able to handle sensitive situations with discretion and discernment
Experience leading volunteers or teams
Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills
Alignment with Hill City Church’s mission, values, and theology

Responsibilities

Care Leadership
Lead a culture of care rooted in prayer, presence, and Scripture
Engage in key or complex care situations, as needed
Help discern appropriate care pathways and pastoral involvement
Volunteer Development & Equipping
Carry out the vision and strategies of the care team through volunteers
Recruit, train, and support care volunteers and leaders
Equip staff and ministry leaders to care for people within their ministries
Develop simple, practical tools that help others provide meaningful care
Care Coordination & Oversight
Lead and support the Care Resident in day-to-day care coordination
Ensure care requests are responded to with clarity and compassion
Maintain systems to track and report ongoing care needs throughout the church
Counseling & Partnerships
Lead relationship with Abundant Life Counseling Center
Connect individuals to appropriate counseling and support resources
Community Engagement
Maintain a vision of being an organization that supports Covenant Members' partnerships with non-profit organizations
Maintain relationships with local organizations to refer Hill City people to trusted resources
Ministry Planning & Budget
Lead care ministry planning and rhythms
Oversee care and benevolence budget with wisdom and stewardship
