About The Position

The Care Management Director provides leadership and oversight for the Care Management Program at New Mexico Solutions. This role oversees program operations, supervises care management staff, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, participates in clinical service delivery, and supports quality, productivity, and documentation standards across assigned programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in behavioral health, care management, or community-based services required.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Independent clinical licensure preferred (e.g., LISW, LPCC, LMFT).
  • Eligibility for clinical supervision preferred.
  • Experience working within Medicaid-funded behavioral health programs strongly preferred.
  • Experience with New Mexico behavioral health systems, regulations, and service definitions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Care Management Program.
  • Maintain knowledge of agency services, regulatory requirements, and Medicaid/managed care guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract, state, and federal standards, including audit readiness.
  • Oversee intake, triage, and referral processes; ensure timely linkage to appropriate services.
  • Review caseload activity to ensure service adequacy and clinical appropriateness.
  • Participate in assigned leadership, clinical, and quality meetings.
  • Support program growth, community outreach, and agency initiatives.
  • Directly supervise care management and outpatient service staff.
  • Provide regular clinical and administrative supervision.
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation for assigned staff.
  • Coordinate schedules, coverage, and leave time to maintain program operations.
  • Support staff in crisis response and clinical decision-making.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team-based care.
  • Provide and model clinical services such as assessments, treatment planning, risk assessment, individual and group interventions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of specialized programs (Case Management, Community Support, Health Home Services).
  • Deliver and promote person-centered, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental services.
  • Support staff in developing cultural competency and inclusive service delivery practices.
  • Complete documentation within required timeframes and in compliance with service definitions and regulatory expectations.
  • Review and monitor staff documentation for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Maintain organizational, time management, and client engagement skills to meet productivity expectations.
  • Ensure supervisees meet productivity, quality, and performance benchmarks.
  • Complete all required trainings and participate in professional development.
  • Provide internal trainings and support staff learning needs.
  • Ensure staff compliance with agency and regulatory training requirements.
