About The Position

Oversees Operations Supervisors, Admin Supervisors, and Base Coordinators to ensure consistency in the day to day operations of the program. This position will maintain a high touch point with both Supervisor and Base Coordinator groups as well as clinical staff. Screens issues affecting the Care Flight staff and conducts initial investigations of issues before submitting them to program leadership with a plan for resolution. Develop and maintain operation reports and KPIs to be presented to program leadership. Identifies and communicates areas of operational and service delivery opportunities to appropriate internal stakeholders. Within this general framework, this position is accountable for the following functions: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure optimal utilization of resources. Regularly communicate with Supervisors and Base Coordinators through various methods to ensure operational consistency. Conduct informal and formal investigations of internal and/or external operational incidents and report findings to program leadership. Responsible for addressing personnel issues, disciplinary actions and improvement plans for Care Flight employees. Responsible for completing annual performance reviews for Base Supervisors. Develop, maintain, and communicate operational reporting and metrics during meetings. Lead regular Supervisor and Base Coordinator meetings and ensure appropriate loop closure. Participate in annual and ongoing budgetary activities and reviews to ensure fiscal responsibility throughout the program. Work with logistics department to ensure consistent and reliable flow of supplies and purchasing for the program. Ensure monthly base audits are being conducted by the Base Supervisors. Regularly reviews various reports with Base Coordinators and Operations Supervisors to ensure base concerns are being addressed. Assist with training of Base Supervisors and Base Coordinators to include the development of training plans. Be available for calls that are elevated from Supervisor on Call (SOC). Assist in the development or revisions of department Care Flight policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational memos. Participate in standing Care Flight Committees to provide input from an operations perspective Assist program leadership in improving communication with Care Flight staff. Represent Care Flight at meetings with outside partners and agencies. In conjunction with the Executive Director of Care Flight and the Director of Business Development and Growth, develop and maintain relationships with transport, fire & law enforcement agencies, and hospital facilities. In coordination with other members of the Care Flight leadership team, supports a positive team environment where employees are proud of being a member and are supportive of one another through open communication, standards, and recognition. Provides development, coaching, and mentoring opportunities to subordinate leaders and high potential employees. Supports the company’s Leadership Code of Conduct through one’s own actions and encourages the same from peers. Holds employees accountable for customer service externally and professional, respectful and courteous behavior internally with co-workers. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must meet and maintain all training and certification requirements for a Care Flight Paramedic or Care Flight Nurse.
  • Current Paramedic or EMS Nurse licensed in the state of Nevada, eligible for reciprocity in the State of California required.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years recent Care Flight Operations Supervisor experience or equivalent combination of external experience and education.
  • A minimum of 3 years HEMS or fixed wing flight experience required.
  • A self-starter requiring little to no oversight with the ability to anticipate future needs.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have intimate knowledge of local and state regulations that govern Air and Ground EMS.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of company policy and procedures.
  • Must possess an ability to make critical decisions based upon objective findings.
  • Must be able to handle customer and employee complaints with confidentiality using established guidelines business acumen.
