About The Position

The Nurse for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cardiopulmonary rehab program, ensuring high-quality patient care, staff coordination, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. This position serves as a leader in providing clinical expertise, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient outcomes in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Current RN Licensure in the State of Idaho.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, certification and renewals, as required.
  • Complete the Basic Dysrhythmia class with a passing grade higher if no prior telemetry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation certification preferred.
  • Experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, critical care, or cardiovascular nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical and emotional health to tailor individualized care plans.
  • Monitor vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, especially during exercise sessions.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests like stress tests and electrocardiograms (EKGs) to assess cardiac function. Conduct nurse supervision during nuclear medicine stress tests.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized rehabilitation programs that include exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Guide patients through structured exercise regimens, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
  • Adjust rehabilitation plans based on patient progress and feedback.
  • Provide resources and counseling on lifestyle changes, such as smoking cessation, dietary adjustments, and stress management techniques.
  • Offer counseling to help patients cope with the psychological impact of their conditions.
  • Address issues like anxiety, depression, and fear that may arise during the recovery process.
  • Encourage participation in support groups or therapy sessions as needed.
