About The Position

Smith Chason College is seeking a motivated Cardiovascular Sonography Program Director for our Phoenix, AZ campus. If you want to share your expertise and passion for the field of echocardiography with the next wave of cardiac sonographers' leaders, we’re looking for you! We are dedicated to giving our students a well-balanced curriculum, which consists of didactic instruction, laboratory training and supervised clinical experience. Students are taught in a supportive educational environment by a highly qualified staff of professionals. The Program Director will play a pivotal role in fulfilling our mission, with significant involvement in student success and curriculum development. The Program Director will be required to report to campus regularly. The PD will collaborate with the team including the faculty lead regularly to ensure the success of the program and will be accountable for all Program Director duties and program outcomes. Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of experience in cardiac sonography.
  • Bachelor's degree in an allied health field preferred.
  • Current registry with ARDMS or CCI.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity in appearance, demeanor, communication, and attitude.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to teach 15-20 hours per week (both lecture and lab).
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivation skills.
  • Experience in leading a team and developing faculty.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience is a plus.
  • Vascular experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, and collaborate with faculty; ensure ongoing faculty performance and CME compliance.
  • Support admissions, participate in panel meetings, orientation, graduation ceremonies, and educational events.
  • Maintain and implement a current curriculum with the DOE, and coordinate faculty meetings and training.
  • Audit classes, provide insights, and assist with scheduling; assume instructor duties if necessary.
  • Enforce school policies, oversee clinical site visits, and provide programmatic recommendations.
  • Treat students with fairness and respect, participate in professional growth activities, and follow ACCSC development plans.
  • Track and report student progress, ensure high registry outcomes, and teach 5-20 hours per week (both lectures and labs).
  • Engage in administration, clinical site development, tutorials, and ensure successful program execution.
  • Review student progress, oversee clinical competencies, advise students, and meet graduation and employment benchmarks.
  • Complete Substantive Interaction Forms quarterly and fulfill additional responsibilities as required by Smith Chason.
