In this role, the Registered Nurse is fundamental in achieving world-class health care, assuming direct and indirect responsibility for the patient's care environment. The RN provides care through collaboration with healthcare team members and the autonomous application of the nursing process, leading, mentoring, and role modeling for other members of the healthcare team. Responsibilities include coordinating and delegating care in a safe, secure, and clean environment, demonstrating respect for patient rights, dignity, values, confidentiality, and needs. The RN uses evidenced-based practice and information technologies while focusing on providing comfort, relieving pain, and alleviating anxiety, practicing within the scope of the Florida Nurse Practice Act and TMH policies, procedures, and requirements, and actively supporting TMH’s mission, vision, and ICARE values.
