About The Position

CentraState Medical Center's new Cardiovascular Interventional suite offers the complete integration of leading-edge imaging and technology to diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular disease and other conditions using minimally invasive alternatives to surgical procedures. Our ‘Suite” team consists of expert Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Electrophysiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Radiology technologists and Registered Nurses collaborating to provide innovative personalized care to our community. The Cardiovascular Interventional Suite is currently seeking an Cardiovascular IR Suite Clinical Coordinator (RN) . This position oversees, coordinates, and takes part in a range of diagnostic, invasive, and angiographic procedures performed in the Invasive Cardiology Lab for both inpatient and outpatient populations. Hours: 7a-5p, 4-days/week On-call requirement Responsibilities Unit resource for patients, staff, physicians, and vendors. Clinical and operational oversight of multimodality Cath Lab. Responsible for oversight of performance improvement initiatives. Drives efficiency of daily operations. Directs and facilitates scheduling and procedural flow to optimize patient care and maximize lab resources. Recruiting, hiring, retention of team members. Fostering relationships with physicians and vendors to achieve mutual goals. Ensures patient experience Oversight of staff development. Collaborates with leadership outside of the Cath Lab to ensure quality patient care is delivered. Ensures the unit is compliant with Centrastate's policies and procedures. Authority to make real time behavioral corrections without oversight. Collaboration with supervisors to conduct next level disciplinary action. Creates, balances, maintain call and daily schedules. Creates, balances, maintains vacation schedules. Recognizes changes in patient condition and/or emergencies situations and takes immediate and appropriate actions. Participates in unit conferences to discuss quality issues and quality improvement strategies. Makes decisions that demonstrated knowledge of nursing practice; utilizes sound nursing judgment in clinical and patient care management situations. Demonstrates critical thinking skills in the care of patients and in the coordination of care to assure the achievement of maximum outcome Recognizes adverse reactions to medications and takes immediate and appropriate actions. Supervises and directs the nursing staff in the administration of their programs and activities. Functions as clinical liaison to Nurse Executive via participation in Nursing Leadership Committee and Magnet. Participates in the ongoing evaluation of department educational programs and ongoing Performance Improvement initiatives. Maintenance of API payroll. Other duties assigned by leadership to meet the needs of the department

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Nursing Required
  • Current NJ RN License Required.
  • 2-3 years of RN leadership experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-years of invasive cardiology or interventional radiology experience required.
  • Current cardiac catheterization experience required or an equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • ACLS Certification required.
  • Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
