About The Position

Full-time coverage needed
36-40 hours per week plus weekend call coverage
Monday-Friday, 3 12-hour shifts per week, 6:00a-6:00p
1:5 rotating call coverage
Coverage need is for OR and call coverage however some ICU coverage will be needed
Cases include CABG, valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive and robotic, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support devices and aortic aneurysm repair
EVH utilizing Marquet
EMR: Cerner
Credentialing: 60-120 days

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
• Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
• Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Pennsylvania
• National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
• Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Pennsylvania
• National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
