About The Position

Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN is looking for exceptional, patient focused Cardiopulmonary Rehab Therapist to join our Cardiopulmonary Rehab Device Team and make a difference for our patients and our community. The Cardiopulmonary Rehab Therapist supports the outpatient cardiac device clinic and plays a key role in managing patients with pacemakers, ICDs, and other implanted cardiac devices. The work blends direct patient interaction with substantial device analysis and clinical coordination. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, or physical education.
  • If clinical background is RN, PT, OT, current MN licensure is required.
  • BLS and ACLS required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Previous clinical experience.
  • Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist.
  • Advanced Cardiology technologist registry or registry eligible (CCDS, RCIS, RECS).

Responsibilities

  • In‑clinic device evaluations — Perform routine and problem-focused checks on pacemakers, ICDs, and other cardiac rhythm management devices.
  • Remote monitoring — Review and interpret remote transmissions, triage alerts, and escalate clinically significant findings.
  • MRI coordination — Verify MRI compatibility, collaborate with MRI staff to clear patients for scanning, and ensure appropriate device programming before and after imaging.
  • Alert and symptom assessment — Evaluate incoming device alerts, correlate findings with patient-reported symptoms, and determine whether device settings support optimal therapy.
  • Clinical collaboration — Work closely with electrophysiologists, APPs, and clinic staff to troubleshoot device issues and support patient care plans.
  • Documentation and workflow management — Maintain accurate device records, update reports, and manage electronic workflows associated with device checks and remote monitoring.
