About The Position

Department Overview The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is recognized as a top integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care, translational research and professional training in all aspects of heart and vascular disease. Guided by a multi-disciplinary approach, researchers and clinicians drive a vibrant translational research program, which focuses on delivering the latest knowledge and cutting edge care to patients. Specifically, research at KCVI seeks to improve patient outcomes by achieving earlier diagnosis of disease, more accurate monitoring of its progression, and tailoring therapy to the molecular basis of disease. Function/Duties of Position Clinical: 100% of time will be spent clinically as a Cardio-oncologist, working collaboratively with the Knight Cancer Institute. Duties will include medical management of cancer patients with chronic or acute heart disease, managing critically ill patients with primary cardiac disorders in an ambulatory setting. Performing consultation services, reading echocardiograms, participating in, and developing outreach programs as needed. Your primary role will focus on the development of our ambulatory general cardiology clinics and our inpatient cardiology consult service. and leading personnel on the service. Education: As teaching is an important portion of the cardiology mission, you will be responsible for the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows and working with our fellowship director in developing a curriculum for the ambulatory cardiology clinic and our consults service. Leadership: Administrative roles will be offered as ability and needs match, including opportunities to participate and serve on institutional committees. Requirements

  • Licensed MD
  • Board Certified in Cardiology
  • Prior experience working in an academic health facility
  • Prior experience serving in a leadership capacity required
