Searches for abnormalities in blood flow sounds, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and the appearance of the heart. Positions patients and explains procedures. Performs quality control functions. Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality. Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques. Develops ultrasound film and matches it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation. Assists with the maintenance and compilation of statistical data. Provides training to new and student cardiac ultrasound technologists. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
