Under the supervision of the Cardiology Department Supervisor and upon the request of the physician, sets up and operates many various types of cardiac diagnostic equipment to determine the extent of disease process, injury and/or illness. Performs these tasks utilizing a predetermined protocol and sound judgment, & provides the highest quality state of the art patient care diagnostic services. Knows the indications, hazards, and contraindications for all diagnostic modalities, including 2-Dimensional and M-Mode Echocardiography, Color-Flow and Doppler, routine Cardiac Stress Echoes, assisting with Tran esophageal Echoes. Maintains appropriate patient records. Demonstrates all cardiac diagnostic techniques to new staff and for orientation purposes. Participates in in-service education and collaborates with other medical personnel as needed. Responsible for quality assurance monitoring. Assist physicians by performing diagnostic studies: Adult and Pediatric Echocardiography, Stress Echo, TEE and Intra-operative TEE. Demonstrates and records assessment of patient and provides to physician. Prepares diagnostic information for physician. Completes daily log for all studies and acknowledges studies per hospital protocol. #POTTS
