About The Position

This role involves performing invasive cardiac, peripheral vascular diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures. The Cardiac Technologist utilizes sophisticated imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, and recording equipment to assess and treat cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. The position requires a thorough knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-Ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care. It also involves working with the growth and development needs of unique client populations, from children to geriatrics, and requires effective communication skills, conflict resolution, and an expert understanding of pharmacologic options for patient treatment, including special protocols for conscious sedation.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge in cardiovascular technology, including pharmacology and advanced cardiac rhythm management
  • Thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care
  • Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 12 months of hire (required depending on location)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable to position

Responsibilities

  • Perform invasive cardiac, peripheral vascular diagnostic, interventional and electrophysiology procedures using sophisticated imaging, hemodynamic monitoring and recording equipment to assess and treated cardiac and peripheral vascular disease
  • Perform all duties of a Cardiac Technologist
  • Work with growth and development needs of unique client populations, including children to geriatrics
  • Utilize effective cardiac communication skills and apply conflict resolution techniques
  • Understand and apply special protocols for conscious sedation of patients
