About The Position

Overview We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery ICU Registered Nurse (CSICU RN) to provide high-acuity care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a fast-paced intensive care environment. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, the ability to perform rapid assessments, and confidence managing complex cardiac patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventions.

Requirements

Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license.
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU or PCU experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
ACLS certification (required within 6 months of hire).
NIHSS Stroke Certification (required within 30 days).

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
CCRN certification (must be obtained within 2 years if not already certified).
Cardiac surgery or cardiovascular ICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, high-acuity care to cardiac surgery ICU patients.
Perform continuous assessments and respond rapidly to changes in condition.
Administer vasoactive drips, cardiac medications, and critical therapies as ordered.
Serve as a patient and family advocate, ensuring privacy and clear communication.
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, and recovery expectations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to support optimal outcomes.
Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation.
Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
