No matter where your talents lie, join us and discover how we can advance health together.   Duke Health Integrated Practice Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of the Duke Health mission across the state of North Carolina.  $10,000 Commitment Bonus & $8,000 Relocation Assistance for qualifying candidates!    JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to provide patient and provider support by using cardiac ultrasound imaging technologies to aid in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions at our Duke Cardiology Ambulatory clinics in Durham, Morrisville and Cary locations.

Requirements

  • Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification.
  • None required beyond above education/certification requirements.
  • Must obtain ARDMS certifications as required by each entity within 18 months of employment.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Sonographer.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion.
  • ARDMS/CCI certification in Echocardiography
  • ARDMS/CCI certification within 18 months of hire
  • BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrates with accuracy proficient performance of routine and urgent echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, Doppler, 2D Strain, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physician and in accordance with standard practices.
  • Operate GE, Philips, Siemens and other ultrasound equipment necessary to perform all required procedures.
  • Appropriately uses echo reporting system (Lumedx), CardioPACS, ISCV (PACS), GE MUSE, and GE Case systems. Maintain equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and notify appropriate resources for repairs.
  • Ability to thoroughly and efficiently evaluate pathology following current guidelines (American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), American College of Cardiology (ACC), etc.) in addition to standard DHIP echocardiography protocols and IAC-Echo standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in all required aspects of quality improvement activities as needed for Joint Commission, and IAC-Echo Accreditations. This would include evaluation of procedure results for technical quality and accuracy, maintenance of appropriate logs, files, and records. Attends required staff meetings and ensures continuing education requirements are met to support professional growth and certification.
  • Analyze patient’s medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures.
  • Communicates technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines.
  • Respond to patient questions about procedures and equipment prior to starting the imaging process.
