Job Description Summary: Hardin Memorial Hospital is hiring a part-time casual (contingent/PRN) Cardiac Sonographer. This position has no set schedule and is to assist with coverage of associate time off. Part-time casual associates are required to work a minimum of 96 hours within a 6-month period. The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, vascular studies, and follow-up paperwork for each procedure. Displays caring, courteous behavior in dealing with patients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and guests of the hospital.

Requirements

• High School or GED (Required)
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• Minimum in a two year allied, patient related healthcare program (i.e., sonography, radiology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, or RN)
• either registered (RDCS or RCS) or registry eligible (RDCS or RCS) with registry obtained within 12 months of hire.
• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound imaging.
• Prepares required reports.
• Maintains files.
• Maintains equipment.
• Provides needed statistics.
• Handles telephone to schedule and provide information.
• Reviews results of echocardiogram with physicians and performs quality assurance activities.
