Pay range: - Hourly $51.79 - $77.69 The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic procedures as well as assisting physicians with diagnostic procedures in accordance with departmental policy and procedure. Pre-Procedure the Cardiac Sonographer: Obtains pertinent patient/clinical information prior to exam, ensuring physician order matches the clinical information, bringing to physician’s attention if there is a question. Greets patients in a respectful manner. Explains the procedure to the satisfaction of the patient. During the Procedure the Cardiac Sonographer: Ensures patient comfort during the exam. Properly identifies patient using standard safety practice (two patient identifiers) of asking his/her full name and date of birth, as well as checking unit number and date. Post-Procedure the Cardiac Sonographer: Informs patient as to when results will be available for their physician. Prepares echocardiograms for interpretation by cardiologists. Ensures all charges are entered correctly and medications entered into the MAR as applicable
