Job Objective: Performs echocardiography studies on all patient populations served in the Cardiology units. Performs transesophageal stress echocardiography as ordered. May be cross-trained in EKG performance and record keeping. Job Description: Education: Required: Graduation from an accredited educational program in American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) program or associate’s degree or higher in echocardiography/cardiovascular sonography if hired after March 1, 2023 Licensure/Certification: Required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within one (1) year of employment; American Heart Association BLS Experience: Preferred: Experience in cardiovascular ultrasound setting and structural heart procedures Reports To: Manager or Director Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: High Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to analyze data, perform appropriate calculations, gather preliminary interpretation, submit appropriate charge (or credit) according to procedure performed and present appropriate paper work/file to physician for interpretation, Ability to communicate, educate, answer questions and address concerns appropriately to patients, providers and team, Ability to operate equipment according to technical specifications and application of equipment, Ability to perform 2-D, M-Mode, Spectral and Color Flow Doppler by Transthoracic and Transesophageal echocardiography on all patients served, Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines, Proficient in the principles of echocardiography
