Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Days (United States of America) Cardiac Sonographer Registered – Sign on Bonus Eligible St. Mary's Hospital Scheduling options include five - 8 hour shifts or four- 10 hour shifts. There is also an option to select either a Wednesday - Saturday or Sunday - Wednesday schedule with three consecutive days off each week. Candidates accepting a full time offer of employment may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $20,000! Rules & restrictions apply, ask your recruiter for details. Internal BSMH associates are not eligible for sign-on bonuses. Job Summary: The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart. The testing modalities include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
• Required credentialed in echocardiography by one of the following organizations: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred)
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
• Picture archiving communication system (PACS) experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing examinations.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.
