About The Position

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist-Coordinator works under the supervision of the Manager, Cardiopulmonary Services, providing education and treatment to patients and families. This individual is able to perform all duties required of a Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist. This individual reports directly to the Manager of Cardiopulmonary Services and oversees all activities for the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy program or a Diploma or degree in nursing or Bachelors’ degree in kinesiology, exercise physiology, or exercise science.
  • One year of experience in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation.
  • Occupational or Physical Therapy license, or RN license awarded by applicable state, if applicable.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association within one year of hire.
  • Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid. This is a condition of employment. Employee must immediately notify his/her manager or the Health System’s Compliance Officer if he/she is threatened with exclusion or becomes excluded from any federally funded program.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ of experience in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation.
  • Two years’ of supervisory or management experience.
  • Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) awarded by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) awarded by the American Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation upon hire or within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association.
