About The Position

The clinical Cardiac Rehab Therapist, is responsible for professional care and related assistance to patients in all phases of Cardiac Rehabilitation. The Therapist will provide direct and indirect patient care in both inpatient and outpatient setting. They will assess, evaluate and prescribe safe and effective exercise for patients recovering from a heart attack, heart surgery, or have been diagnose with cardiac disease.

Requirements

  • One year of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or related field required
  • Previous experience in cardiac rehab or pulmonary rehab setting is required
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 1 week a month
  • Must be available to interview M-F, between 12:30 - 1:30 pm

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hemodynamic responses during exercise
  • Develop suitable exercises at an appropriate heart rate range
  • Teach patient independent exercise habits
  • Provide information on cardiac risk factor modification and positive lifestyle change
  • Exhibits basic knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias
  • Exhibits professional and ethical conduct at all times
  • Is courteous with patients, co-workers, family members, physicians, and the general public
  • Appropriately handles confidential information regarding patient records
