About The Position

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist works under the supervision of the Cardiac Rehab Manger providing education and treatment to patients and families. This individual is responsible for patients with heart disease and who are at risk for coronary heart disease. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist works in collaboration with nursing staff, primary physicians, and healthcare workers by evaluating recovery of patients who have experiences a major cardiac event.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy program or a Diploma or degree in nursing or Bachelors’ in pulmonary science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, or exercise science.
  • Occupational or Physical Therapy license, or RN license awarded by applicable state, if applicable.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years’ of direct cardiac rehab experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association.
  • Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) awarded by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) awarded by the American Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
