About The Position

This position oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Gordon Memorial Health Services (GMHS) Cardiac Rehabilitation programs. Creates the annual program plan and facilitates the development of appropriate program goals and continuous quality improvement processes. The cardiac rehabilitation director is responsible and accountable to provide the highest quality of care to cardiac rehabilitation patients. The cardiac rehabilitation director is fundamental to the development, implementation, and evaluation of cardiac rehabilitation for those specific patients, coordinates with outside providers and internal staff to provide and care from both cardiac and pulmonary patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Two (2) years of experience in the practice of Professional Nursing Service preferred
  • Current Nebraska Registered Nurse license required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Knowledge of: Exercise physiology, nutrition counseling, techniques and use of educational tools
  • Telemetry and CMS guidelines
  • Appropriate regulatory agency standards to include but not limited to JCAHO, OSHA and IDPH
  • Skills in: Basic nursing technique
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership and problem solving
  • Tact and positive business demeanor
  • Ability to: Implement teaching/learning strategies and facilitate group dynamics
  • Be self-motivated and organized
  • Establish and maintain rapport with physicians and hospital personnel
  • Use various instruments, machines, tools, equipment, and work aids as necessary to perform job duties
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Generate, read, interpret, and take action as it relates to basic financial statements, national and state regulations, operational and maintenance and organizational policy/procedures
  • Write reports and correspondence
  • Work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships
  • Work with skill in identifying problems; making frequent decisions regarding method of performance
  • Accept and implement change

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) provider preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all aspects of department operations effectively and efficiently
  • Fosters strong collaborative and service-oriented relationships with the multidisciplinary team, as well as internal and external customers, in order to maintain excellent clinical outcomes and promote service line growth.
  • Directs and monitors the allocation of clinical and technical support to assure compliance with safety standards and labor and productivity targets.
  • Participates in GMHS committees, quality assurance, performance, and quality improvement initiatives, and activities which support the facility and department operations.
  • Presents self in a professional manner and enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients’ medical, personal, financial, employee, and organizational records is maintained.
  • Oversees departmental financial operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
