About The Position

The Cardiac Monitor Tech job provides continuous observation, interpretation, documentation and communication of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient cardiac rhythms. This role prepares and maintains telemetry records and maintains a functioning telemetry system.

Requirements

  • One (1) year Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant experience or a combination of science/healthcare education and/or patient-care related work experience that included arrhythmia interpretation.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Functions under direction of RN in interpreting, documenting and reporting cardiac rhythms, maintaining and problem solving monitoring system; all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.
  • Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor for time/schedule changes, legal issues, directed care which deviates from standard, and identification of educational resources to meet developmental needs.
  • Cardiac Monitor Technicians work all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
  • Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or as is in the best interest of the work unit.
  • Physical: Lifting 20-50 lbs.
  • Activities: Prolonged sitting, Frequent bending, Walking (distance), Climbing (steps, ladder, other), Reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive)
  • Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, Reasoning, Problem solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking
  • Emotional: Fast pace environment, Steady pace, Able to handle multiple priorities, Noisy environment, Able to adapt to frequent change

Nice To Haves

  • Academic health care Experience Preferred
  • Completion of Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program
