About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a PRN Cardiac Exercise Technician to join our team at Memorial Katy Cardiology in Katy, TX.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification
• Must have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Prior IV or Cardiac experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Explains testing procedures to patients and obtains consent form.
• Attaches electrodes to patient's arms, legs, and chest area.
• Places IV for patient exam.
• Starts electrocardiograph and records vitals data.
• Informs the technologist of wave abnormalities on electrocardiogram.
• Lends support to Advanced Practitioner and Nuclear Medicine Technologist during critical care events.
• Creates PDF of completed EKG exam.
• Uploads exam to patient chart and PACS system.
• Documents patient vitals for final report.
• Cleans, adjusts, and performs routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintains accurate inventory of materials and supplies.
• Verifies patient appointments the day before, confirms appointment time and location.
• Assists in the training of new personnel.
• Assists in notifying patients of special instructions prior to testing,
• Assists in maintaining department volume and productivity through schedule management.
• Escorts patients to check-out.
• Performs all other duties as required.
