About The Position

Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) is seeking a per diem Cardiac Device Specialist in the Sicklerville, NJ office location. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and dynamic clinical team. AMI is one of the largest independently owned and operated outpatient radiology practices in New Jersey, with 30 office locations and over 900 employees serving communities throughout Southern & Central NJ. AMI offers the 401K retirement benefit to Per Diem employees. Offered rates increase based on years of work experience. This is a per diem (PRN) position with shifts scheduled as needed in Sicklerville, with one (1) day per month in Wall.

Requirements

  • Eligible candidates are a licensed RN, APN, or PA-C, with the appropriate education obtained from an accredited college, in addition to the CCDS or RMP certification.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 1-3 years' clinical experience in cardiology, electrophysiology, CIED remote monitoring or in-person evaluations.
  • 5 years' patient care experience analyzing and reprogramming pacemakers and automatic AICDs.
  • Candidates must have AHA BLS and ACLS.
  • Candidates must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • These skills are necessary for success in the team-oriented setting, with an emphasis on the patient experience.
  • Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and physicians.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in a critical care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • provide optimal treatment to patients.
  • Direct assessment and oversight of patients on the day of MRI exam, both independently and in collaboration with providers.
  • Collaborates and communicates both pre and post MRI exam with CIED team, individual manufacturer program specialists and the patients’ Cardiologist.
  • Ensures documentation and reports are all completed and communicated appropriately.
  • Processes wearable cardiac defibrillator remote transmissions and forward reports to the patient’s Cardiologist.
  • Recognizes and responds to device abnormalities or malfunctions with appropriate interventions.
  • Forward information to referring physicians and providers.
  • Educate and train other staff involved in care of pacemaker/defibrillator patients.
  • Assists in the continued development of the educational program to be used for CIED patients.
  • Acts as a resource to all staff regarding clinical questions and decisions.
  • Triages cardiac device patient phone calls and prescreening evaluation questions.
  • Completes practice and unit specific clinical skill competencies to include MRI safety training.
  • Assists department with onboarding new staff as well as assists leadership with providing department continuing education opportunities for the team; and
  • Maintains and monitors systems, equipment and supplies for assigned department.
