Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Device Clinic Specialist for a full-time role in Charlottesville, VA. This position is day shift position Monday to Friday and is On Site. This is not a remote position. This position does offer flexible shift scheduling. At the Device Clinic at Sentara Martha Jefferson , where you'll work in a specialized, small team environment. As a Cardiac Device Specialist, you will monitor patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) using various software to conduct cardiac device interrogations. This role involves employing your knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology to assess the technical function of CIEDs, analyze device diagnostics, and maintain accurate clinical documentation, while recognizing abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs, and CRT devices. Along with performing device interrogations, you will assist our Education specialist and Manager with other clinical aspects of this hospital-based device clinic. The Device Clinic Specialist facilitates optimal clinical effectiveness of implanted cardiac devices through the application of technical knowledge and skills to evaluate device function and device management in outpatient, procedural, and inpatient settings.   • Assess the technical function of CIEDs, analyze device diagnostics, and maintain accurate clinical documentation, while recognizing abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs, and CRT devices.

  • Facilitate optimal clinical effectiveness of implanted cardiac devices through the application of technical knowledge and skills to evaluate device function and device management in outpatient, procedural, and inpatient settings.
  • Work in collaboration with electrophysiologists and cardiologists to ensure optimal device programming
  • Associates degree in a medical or health-related field with one year of cardiology or cardiac device experience required.
  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license will be considered in lieu of degree and work experience requirement.
  • Clinical Experience required.
  • knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology recognizing abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs, and CRT devices preferred
  • 1 year of device or cardiology specific experience required
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • For Registered Nurses, required license must be valid in the state(s) of practice.
  • IBHRE CCDS certification within 5 years of hire preferred.
