About The Position

South Carolina Federal Credit Union is seeking a Card Operations Representative to join their team in North Charleston, SC. This role is responsible for providing superior service to both internal employees and external members, handling card inquiries and issues, and resolving debit card disputes related to fraud and non-fraud situations. Key duties also include preparing and mailing member notifications, ensuring compliance with record retention practices, maintaining department supplies, and performing various administrative tasks. This is a 6-month temporary opportunity with the potential to convert to permanent employment, initially through a 3rd party agency. The position offers a potential hybrid schedule, requiring specific high-speed internet and wired ethernet capabilities for remote work.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Possess a minimum of two years of similar or related experience in a service work environment.
  • Possess the ability to provide superior member/customer service.
  • Possess proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to perform duties with accuracy and speed in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
  • Possess the ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Possess the ability to maintain confidential information and handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • Possess demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
  • Possess proficient mathematical skills.
  • Meet the minimum requirements of high-speed internet (200MBPS download; 25 MBPS upload, 50MS or less latency, and 30MS or less jitter) and ability to be wired into router through ethernet to support required responsibilities for a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Providing superior service during every interaction with both internal employees and external members.
  • Answering telephone calls related to card inquiries and issues for both internal employees and external members.
  • Researching, resolving and responding timely to card inquiries and issues or escalating to the appropriate team member or management when necessary.
  • Handling debit card disputes related to fraud and non-fraud situations.
  • Preparing and mailing member notifications.
  • Ensuring department's record retention practices and compliance.
  • Ordering and maintaining department supplies.
  • Retrieval and distribution of interoffice mail.
  • Ensuring all desk procedures/documentation pertaining to duties are accurate/current.
  • Performing various administrative tasks as requested by management.
  • Providing support for department activities as needed.
  • Providing support to other team members as needed.
