About The Position

Carbide Engineer Penn United Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineer to join our Carbide team. The right candidate for this fully on-site role will be familiar with manufacturing, equipment and processes in order to provide top quality engineering services that make the transition from customer specifications to design and actual manufacturing as effective and consistent as possible. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship, journeyman’s papers or college degree in related field
  • Solid ability to apply CAD/CAM software to engineering designs
  • High level of computer, technical, mechanical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Able to work and communicate well with coworkers and customers at a professional level
  • May be asked to work an adjusted schedule to fulfill customer requirements
  • Must be a US Person as defined as being either 1) a United States citizen or 2) a lawful permanent resident ("Green Card" or "Alien Registration Card" holder). US Citizenship or lawful permanent resident status is REQUIRED as per ITAR- International Traffic in Arms Regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with carbide manufacturing and its processes, preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical processes

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering, designing and detailing tasks using a CAD system
  • Work with customers and internal teams on design for manufacturing concepts and detailing for the carbide manufacturing processes
  • Engineer internal prints and parts according to customer specifications
  • Design internal part prints from customer designs to optimize machining effectiveness and manufacturing cycle times
  • Research and problem solve any process and part issues due to internal print designs.
  • Collaborate with all internal teams and customers on improving design, efficiency and productivity to ensure the customers final product and goals are met.
  • Assist with training engineers and internal employees on the carbide engineering process
  • Work closely with quotations personnel to provide technical assistance
  • Ensure all engineering documentation for each job is completed and maintained properly
