About The Position

This position has a target start date of summer 2026. As an Associate Intern for the Project Management Office (PMO) group, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the project management and project controls team members in the execution of their project work. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

Requirements

  • We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge in MS Office tools, with emphasis on MS Excel in creating and maintaining detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels

Nice To Haves

  • Prior related internship, co-op, or work experience, which includes project controls, project planning, project scheduling, and earned value performance
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers with meeting facilitation, including meeting agendas, meetings notes, and action item list tracking
  • Support project managers with stakeholder coordination, including maintenance of contact lists, communication plans, email distribution lists, and MS Teams channel organization
  • Support project scheduling, cost tracking, progress monitoring, and project / portfolio reporting for power-related engineering and construction projects
  • Manage RFI and Submittal processing including creating a tracking log and facilitating communication between the contractor and client review team
  • Participate in project site visits/walk downs and safety briefings
  • Support material reservations/orders and site logistics including entering reservations, creating a log, and monitoring long lead time items
  • Assist with change management including entering new items in the log and updating changes in status
  • Utilize and expand your academic background in project controls and project management tools and methodologies
  • Eager to learn new skills and develop knowledge to add make a valuable impact to project team operation
  • Willing to engage with others to understand project team needs
