Position Overview: The Capital Planning and Management Reporting team is seeking a confident, self-motivated, and analytical Professional with strong financial analytical skills, project management, and communication skills. The Capital Planning and Analytics Professional will be responsible for creating and analyzing capital related processes and priorities – and to support prioritize and drive execution of such deliverables. The role will partner extensively with colleagues across Finance, Business Functions, Risk, Regulatory Affairs as well as other functions and lines of businesses. Additionally, the role requires strong analytical, project management, and communication skills. The candidate will work on initiatives that will provide a unique opportunity to gain a broad understanding of many key business attributes related to capital planning, management, analytics, and forecasting. Our Impact: The Capital Planning and Management Reporting team is responsible for the planning, forecasting, and optimization of capital. The team focuses on the oversight of all capital management, capital planning and elements related to risk appetite and capital contingency, as well as strategic and policy initiatives. The team’s activities are focused on both business-as-usual and stress environments and ties closely with other areas within the Finance function including Financial Planning and Analysis and Stress Testing. Our team: Prepares spot capital reporting per the regulator requirements Prepares Annual Capital Plan submission to FHFA Collaborates with the division finance areas as well as division risk officers (DROs) in the implementation of the recently enacted Enterprise Capital Rule and coordinates associated regulatory submissions. Drives the optimization of capital in partnership with other areas within Finance and the business areas to improve the systems and processes currently utilized to perform these activities. Develops the strategies and tools to accurately measure and optimize capital capacity and ratios and related measures. The Capital Planning and Management Reporting team is aligned to the Investments & Capital Markets division, reporting to the SVP of Financial Planning and Capital Markets CFO who reports to the Chief Financial Officer and this is an excellent opportunity to be part of a results-driven team that will implement Freddie Mac’s Capital Planning and Management Strategy. Your Impact: As a member of the Capital Planning Team you will: Assist in preparation of quarterly submissions of ERCF & ROCET1 templates to our regulator. Analyze and explain drivers for various components and metrics related to required capital and capital shortfalls Analyze actual returns and capital levels against capital plan and policy Assist in preparation of quarterly ERCF Public Disclosure content Comply with appropriate controls during each reporting period Understand capital data structure and make enhancements to the structure and/or reports as needed Assist in analysis to support comment letter based on Notice of Proposed Rule making by FHFA Work on initiatives that will provide a unique opportunity to gain a broad understanding of many key business attributes related to capital planning, management, analytics, and forecasting Collaborate with fellow team members and other participants within Capital team and others in the Finance organization as well as the Risk organization (second line). Demonstrate understanding of internal business segments (team members) Create presentations for senior management, Board of Directors and regulators Analyze / explain results, review trending and perform sensitivity analysis Build and maintain reporting templates and documentation of methodologies and execution to support governance requirements Work within a fast-paced, engaging, and dynamic environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2- 4 years experience in financial reporting, planning, forecasting and analytics in banking industry, financial servicing companies and consulting firms etc.
  • Prior work experience in areas related to analytics, management or banking with best-in-class firm with focus on capital planning and management is strongly preferred
  • Strong validated business analysis competency , communication skills and abstract problem-solving capabilities.
  • High proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel required
  • An undergraduate degree is required.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of the capital requirements under the Enterprise Regulatory Capital Framework and their relation to BASEL III
  • Strong analytical, project management, presentation and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to build good relationships within a large and sophisticated organization – working well with key customers and advancing projects forward
  • Show flexibility in thinking as we develop new processes as multiple iterations are likely to happen before a workstream is completed
  • Ask questions and listen while learning - A good amount of the work is related to listening and capturing information from others
  • Demonstrate robust and extensive knowledge of finance, economics, accounting, and mortgage
