About The Position

Grinding camshafts using a grinding lathe. This operator will grind roughly 50-100 camshafts per day. This is a self-directed position requiring the person to read and understand micrometers to accurately machine the surfaces. Requires positioning camshaft from conveyor line, processing through the rotating lathe machine, and returning down conveyor. Knowing, understanding, and performing machine set-up and preventive maintenance is required.

Requirements

• The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
• The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx... 8-10 hours)
• The ability to use handheld tools such as micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Grinding camshafts using a grinding lathe
• Grind roughly 50-100 camshafts per day

• Positioning camshaft from conveyor line
• Processing camshaft through the rotating lathe machine
• Returning camshaft down conveyor
• Machine set-up
• Preventive maintenance
