About The Position

To plan, direct and coordinate activities related to the protection, safeguard and security of district assets, students, patrons, employees and guests; ensure that the security staff maintains a high level of customer service; serve as a liaison with local law enforcement and municipalities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, Post-Secondary Education in the field of Security Management or Criminal Justice preferred, Security Guard Certification/License
  • Minimum 10 years in law enforcement, security management or military police.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to make group presentations.
  • Knowledgeable and well educated in the area of law enforcement as it pertains to schools.
  • Ability to train and lead staff when addressing security issues or district expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the district's liaison with local and county law enforcement, fire and first responders.
  • Assist administration in creating and reviewing a memorandum of understanding with local law enforcement as the district moves forward with the creation of a campus police.
  • Coordinate all daily security at the designated secondary sites in conjunction with the district calendar, night and summer school programs.
  • Coordinate all security at evening, home athletic events where designated by administration.
  • Provide security for all district board meetings and special board meetings when requested.
  • Provide and/or schedule all security coverage for special events in collaboration with administration.
  • Perform security staff evaluations and review job performance with administration.
  • Coordinate with site administration regarding concerns and expectations of officers
  • Review, suggest and lead training opportunities for administrative staff and security staff in areas of safety as it pertains to police response and the law
  • Participates appropriately in district safety activities including but not limited to: a.attending district or site meetings as requested b.consulting with supervisor and administration regarding any potentially emergency or safety issues/concerns c.assist with district SERT in planning and response to district emergencies
  • Maintains confidentiality of students and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
