About The Position

Professional safety officer to provide excellent customer service to our students, faculty and staff. Provide protection to assets, personnel, and students and to report any suspicious behavior on and around campus to authorities. This person will maintain a highly visible presence and promote a safe, secure and responsible campus atmosphere.Detecting, deterring, observing and reporting are key duties. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
Work experience as a security/safety guard or in a related field.
Customer Service Experience.
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment and valid Class E driver's license.
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
Surveillance skills and attention to detail.
ALICE training (Can be provided on site).

Responsibilities

Protect University employees, students and property by promoting a safe campus and safety awareness.
Observe campus and facilities for signs of crime, vandalism and unsafe behavior and investigate as needed.
Initiate proactive means of protecting life or property.
Take accurate notes and make reports of unusual or suspicious occurrences.
Regularly patrol campus and facilities.
Monitor and control access at building entrances.
Monitor parking lots and enforce parking regulations.
Monitor alarm systems and video cameras and operate emergency systems.
Perform basic First Aid, CPR and AED.
Assist Grounds and Maintenance with snow removal
Perform other duties as assigned
