About The Position

Position Requirements Education and Experience: 5+ years of experience in campus ministry and/or parish ministry preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Theology or related field preferred. Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, or related field encouraged. Must pass comprehensive background checks, including fingerprinting. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Disciple of Jesus Christ who regularly seeks to enhance his or her relationship with God through the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. Demonstrates knowledge of Jesus and his teaching with a deep understanding of ministry and theology. Understanding of Catholic education in the United States. Familiarity and working knowledge of Church documents. Knowledge of available education, ministry, and youth development resources. Knowledge of family systems and how it affects the healthy formation of young people. Excellent interpersonal and pastoral skills. Experience in digital media. Excellent writing and communication skills. Open to professional growth and development. Good financial steward with ability to maintain a budget. Positive, practical attitude with balanced initiative. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position Refine and implement the existing class retreat program in which each grade level participates in a yearly, off-campus class retreat. Develop age-appropriate activities for students to engage in fellowship with their peers and have a meaningful encounter with Jesus Christ. Identify and train students to help lead the retreat and serve as small group leaders. Coordinate faculty supervision and participation as adult leaders. Collaborate with school leadership in planning and implementing the annual faculty retreat. Develop and implement regular and novel spiritual formation opportunities that engage all students in the life of their faith including, but not limited to Bible studies, small groups, praise and worship, etc. Collaborate with school leadership and the Student Inclusion and Formation Council to create programming for Catholic Schools Week and Multicultural Week. Work closely with faculty, staff, and students to develop a hospitable environment for those of all faith traditions, including providing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Prioritize relational ministry and discipleship of all students by engaging in the extra-curricular lives of our students. Manage a group of student peer ministers and collaborate with the campus ministry team to develop relevant curriculum, activities and responsibilities that help strengthen their personal faith and equip them to be disciples of the campus. Collaborate with Theology Department in faith formation initiatives for students including the biannual Kairos retreat. Collaborate with the Campus Ministry team to take students to the March for Life in Washington, DC, Steubenville Lonestar, and/or any other relevant faith-building opportunities within the greater community. Assist each member of the campus ministry team in their ministerial initiatives. Communicate and implement relevant policies and standards as set by the Diocese of Dallas. Maintain & participate in national/regional membership in campus ministry organizations. Develop key performance indicators and work with the campus ministry team to continually assess the effectiveness of campus ministry programming to ensure it is meeting the ever-evolving needs of the school community. Serve as a moral leader by carrying oneself and making decisions in the best interest of the school and the students. Relevant school administrative tasks.
